Pre-Collegiate Services

Colorado is home to nearly 100 groups and programs that help students plan, apply and pay for post-secondary studies. College In Colorado maintains an up-to-date directory of these services by region, and collaborates with many of the stakeholders to host the annual Statewide Pre-Collegiate Conference.

  • Current Pre-Collegiate Service Providers — This spreadsheet reflects changes since the publication of the most recent Directory of Pre-Collegiate Services. This directory includes federal programs such as the Educational Talent Search, Upward Bound and GEAR UP; college-based programs such as the CU System's Pre-Collegiate Development Program; non-profits such as AVID, High Horizons and College Summit, as well as numerous youth-oriented community-based programs promoting college access and success.

  • Colorado Statewide Pre-Collegiate Conference — The 2007 conference was a great success, thanks to over 300 attendees, the generous hospitality of the Community College of Denver and some remarkable presentations and workshops. Planning has begun for 2008 and your input is always welcome! Click here for more information or contact gully.stanford@cic.state.co.us.

  • Presentation to Joint Senate/House Education Committees March 15, 2006.

  • College In Colorado Campaign Overview — Each year, Colorado outranks the nation with the greatest number of degree holders per capita, yet only one in five Colorado ninth-grade students will earn a college degree, ranking the state in the bottom quartile nationwide. The State of Colorado initiated College In Colorado as a statewide effort to improve college access and change expectations about college for all Colorado students. A cornerstone of the campaign, www.CollegeInColorado.org, offers a one-stop resource to help students, parents and counselors plan, apply and pay for college.
